- Standard: None
- Length: 115.4 mm (4.54″)
The S.T. Dupont Rollerball Refill is similar to a standard ceramic rollerball except that the rear cap is a bit longer. This adds about 4mm to the overall length of the refill, making it 115.4 mm vs. roughly 111.1 mm for a standard rollerball.
Faber-Castell Magnum Rollerball Refill
- Standard: None
- Length: 114.3 mm (4.5″)
The Faber-Castell Magnum Rollerball refill is similar to a Schmidt 8126 long capless rollerball, but it has a longer rear cap.

The Montblanc LeGrand pens take a rollerball and fineliner. These are capless refills with a unique length and shape. The tip area is threaded like all other Montblanc rollerball refills.

- Standard: None
- Length: 114.3 mm (4.5″)
The Parker rollerball refill has a unique shape. Jaymo, Monteverde, and other refill makers have third party versions of this refill.
Montblanc Rollerball Refill
- Standard: None
- Length: 112.8 mm (4.44″)
The Montblanc Rollerball refill is similar to a standard ceramic rollerball, but it is slightly longer and has a threaded tip. Montblanc also makes a fineliner that will fit the same pens. Jaymo, Monteverde, and other refill makers offer this refill as well.
Standard Ceramic Rollerball Refill
- Standard: Standard Ceramic Rollerball (RB)
- Length: 111.1 mm (4.375″)
The standard ceramic rollerball refill is one of the most common profiles on the market. Most pen and refill makers have refills that match this standard. The official ISO length for these refills is 110 mm, but most vary between 110 mm and almost 112 mm. Schmidt lists its refills as 110.6 mm, but these do vary as well. Most others on the market adhere closely to the 111.1 mm measurement, which is exactly 4 3/8 inches in length. The words euro, european, international, and/or safety can also be used to describe this profile.
Cross Selectip Rollerball Refill
- Standard: None
- Length: 111.1 mm (4.375″)
The Cross Selectip Rollerball refill is a unique size and shape refill that only works in Cross or Sheaffer Selectip pens. Ballpoint and porous point refills are also available from Cross and Sheaffer and some third party refill makers to fit these pens. - Standard: None
- Length: 111.1 mm (4.375″)
The Pelikan 338 Rollerball refill is very similar to the standard ceramic rollerball refill. However, its tip section is slightly different. Thus, it fits Pelikan rollerballs along with some other brands. However, standard ceramic rollerballs won’t always fit the Pelikan rollerball pens. Porsche Design pens also use this refill.
Pilot G2 Gel Refill
- Standard: None
- Length: 111.1 mm (4.375″)
The Pilot G2 Pen is one of the most popular pens on the market. It takes a gel roller refill that is similar in profile to a standard ceramic rollerball (RB). Pilot G2 refills will typically fit in most pens that take a standard ceramic rollerball, but most standard ceramic rollerball refills will NOT fit in a Pilot G2 pen. Further confusion exists because of the Parker style G2 standard refill. Those refills will NOT fit in a Pilot G2 pen, and Pilot G2 Gel Refills will NOT fit in pens that take a Parker style G2. Many refill makers offer gel refills that match the profile of the Pilot G2.

The Waterman rollerball refill is slightly shorter than a standard ceramic rollerball (RB). However, many standard rollerball refills will fit in Waterman rollerball pens, and the Waterman rollerball refill will typically fit in most other pens that take a standard rollerball. The tip just won’t stick out as far. For this reason, Jaymo, Monteverde, and other third party refill makers don’t always have a separate refill just for the Waterman rollerball.
